I love my stuff 1/3
2023 - Acryllic paint, spraypaint and acryllic markers on canvas - 60x80 cm
About the series
In this series of paintings, I have depicted the possessions that hold a special place in my heart. As we live in a world that values material possessions, I find joy and comfort in the things that I own. My passions include playing the guitar, gaming, shopping for clothes, painting, drawing, creating illustrations, graphic design, and listening to music.
During the process of creating these paintings, I felt overwhelmed by the multitude of hobbies I had taken on. It seemed like I was juggling too many balls at once, and I struggled to find a balance in my life that incorporated all of my interests. It was then that I decided to start this project, as a way to bring all the 'things that I love' together in one place, in one row.
About this work
This painting showcases my beloved Raf Simons x Adidas Ozweego shoes. To me, these shoes are the epitome of perfection, and I simply adore them. Despite their discoloration, loose sole, and other imperfections, they continue to maintain their exceptional quality. I have painstakingly glued them countless times and even recolored them with black shoe dye. I am convinced that I will never find another pair of shoes that can match their level of comfort and aesthetic appeal.
Given the amount of time and money I have invested in them, I felt that my shoes deserved a special place on my wall. This painting serves as a tribute to the deep admiration and attachment I have for these shoes.
